A two-day executive programme for senior leaders responsible for turning strategic ambition into organisational performance.

Senior executives in a strategy session

Why Strategy Fails

Strategy rarely fails because of a lack of ideas.

More often, it fails in the space between intention and execution. Priorities compete, decisions slow down, stakeholders pull in different directions, and organisations revert to familiar patterns.

The programme explores what it takes to lead effectively in that space.

About the Programme

Leading Strategy into Action™ is a two-day intensive programme for senior leaders and decision-makers responsible for driving strategic change across their organisations. Participants examine what it takes to lead effectively in the space between strategic intent and organisational action. That is where the real work of leadership happens.

Through reflection, dialogue, and work on real strategic issues, leaders strengthen their ability to think strategically, act deliberately, and influence effectively across organisational boundaries. A particular emphasis is placed on the dynamics that most often determine whether strategy gains traction: power, influence, stakeholder relationships, and informal networks. Leaders leave with a deeper understanding of how decisions are really made, how commitment is built, and how to create the conditions for people and functions to move in the same direction.

What You Will Be Able to Do

Participants complete the programme with eight concrete capabilities:

  1. Ensure your leadership strategies align with your business strategies

  2. Identify the drivers that are key to your organisation's business and leadership strategies

  3. Maximise leadership effectiveness through strategic thinking, acting, and influencing skills

  4. Navigate competing priorities, tensions, and organisational trade-offs

  5. Build coalitions and networks that accelerate strategic initiatives

  6. Mobilise people across functions and levels around shared priorities

  7. Shape the cultural and leadership conditions required for effective execution

  8. Define a personal take-charge strategy for a current or upcoming strategic challenge

How the Programme Works

Learning is experiential, practical, and grounded in real leadership challenges. The programme uses four proven methods:

Case Studies

Choose a course of action from a pool of equally plausible solutions. Case studies sharpen critical thinking and build the strategic judgement that board-level decisions demand.

Peer Learning

Senior leaders challenge assumptions, exchange perspectives, and learn from how others navigate similar strategic execution challenges.

Team-Based Simulations

Teamwork provides an authentic forum for exchanging and contrasting knowledge among peers, while building the ability to align opposing perspectives. That is one of the most critical skills in complex organisations.

Experiential Exercises

Hands-on collaborative activities build self-awareness, learning agility, influence, and communication. Leaders learn more and faster when they work through real problems together.
